Bronxton was founded upon four pillars - Music, Art, Travel, and Action Sports.
Growing up in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, Bronxton founder Dan Dapper naturally fell in love with the ocean and dreamed of travelling the world to surf the greatest waves. As a boy, he often left home for weeks at a time to explore Brazil’s natural beauty and live off the land. He made money working as a paperboy, and from an early age learned the importance of quality clothing that would endure his active lifestyle.
Dan moved to Utah in 2000 to continue his passion for the outdoors. In 2008 he met his future wife Elle. They married in 2010 on the beach in Hawaii.
Working his way up in the IT field, Dan became accomplished in his career. He assisted in launching a couple of IT companies, but found the routine of the “suit & tie” lifestyle mundane and confining. He craved a challenge to create something new and tangible. Dan decided to explore his love of fashion, art, music, sports, and travel and jump in to the retail industry.
Dan made his way back to surf culture when he and Elle opened Epic Board Shop in Salt Lake City, Utah. The shop sold skate apparel and hardware. The apparel portion of the business far surpassed the hardware portion, so Epic Board Shop closed its doors to reorganize and reprioritize.
The couple redeveloped their business idea and the first Bronxton opened in 2015. Bronxton was Dan’s answer to providing comfortable and quality clothing with a surf/mountain vibe while staying true to the original four pillars of Music, Art, Travel, and Action Sports. The concept was received by the local clientele with huge fanfare.
Bronxton now operates three stores in the Salt Lake Valley- Shops at South Town, Fashion Place Mall, City Creek Center. Bronxton Tonsorial operates within the City Creek shop, offering an exclusive, full-service barber experience. Bronxton.com operates 24/7 online.
